We are thrilled to announce that RICON 2015 will take place November 4-6 right in the heart of San Francisco, on Union Square, at the Westin St. Francis. The distributed systems ecosystem saw tremendous growth in the past year and RICON 2015 will provide a platform for developers, industry leaders, partners, customers and community members to collaborate, share experiences and educate one another on the latest innovations in the field.
This year’s event will feature a one-day training on November 4 (details to be announced), followed by two days of keynotes, in-depth sessions, technical presentations, panel discussions, networking events, parties and more. To quote RICON 2014 keynote presenter Mac Devine, Vice President and CTO, Networking and Innovation, IBM Cloud Division:
“Distributed Systems are where big data, cloud and Internet of things (IoT) converge. This is the “Perfect Storm” and has the ability to disrupt current big established industries and create new opportunities and new industries that didn’t exist before. RICON 2015 is the ideal venue to put yourself at the center of this storm.”
The call for presentations is officially open and we’d like to hear about all the ways you apply distributed systems theory in practice, your experience and innovations, new research in the field, or how you are using Riak and Riak CS. Last year we surveyed participants and many asked for more content specifically regarding Riak, so this year RICON will be run in three tracks:
- Distributed Systems Design – Developers & Academia will share experiences in the design, analysis, implementation, or application of distributed systems.
- Distributed Systems Operations – Deployment strategies, performance optimizations, hardware recommendations, etc. based on real world experiences.
- Riak in Production – Data modeling, monitoring, scalability, language specific implementation, and more. Your experience deploying Riak in production shared with the community.
If you have an educational, inspiring or ground-breaking stories or content about any of the above, we welcome you to submit a proposal. We will accept submissions until August 30.
Of course, RICON wouldn’t possible without sponsors. If you’re interested in supporting the event and being an integral part of the conversation, take a look at our sponsorship prospectus for more information on various sponsorship packages.
