OpenStack Trove Day: Tyler Hannan, director of technical marketing, Riak will participate in a panel at 11 a.m. ET on Tuesday, August 19 in Cambridge, Mass. to discuss Database-as-a-Service. Check out tickets here.
The Los Angeles PHP Developers Group: On Tuesday, August 19 at 7 p.m. PT, Riak is hosting a LAPHP meetup, Riak, PHP, and the Death of Service Outages. During the meetup we will give an overview of how Riak and Riak CS can help you build and deploy applications that are highly-available, fault-tolerant and ready to scale when you are. The meetup will be held at Factual Inc. – 1999 Avenue of the Stars, 34th floor, Los Angeles, Calif.
VMworld 2014: VMworld brings together thought leaders, subject matter experts and IT professionals to discuss the latest innovations in virtualization and cloud technology, including data center for storage, networking, workforce mobility and hybrid cloud services. Riak will be checking it out, so tweet us @basho and we’d love to meet and chat! VMworld will be August 24-28 in San Francisco, Calif.
devLink Technical Conference: devLink brings together developers and IT professionals for three days of keynotes and workshops in Chattanooga, Tenn. It’s a great opportunity to learn about innovations in software development and connect with other developers. We are happy to announce Riak’s own Alex Moore will be presenting at the conference!
Alex’s session, “Riak – Scaling your Data Safely for Fun and Profit!” will introduce you to Riak and the concepts behind it. Attendees will learn how to code in .Net/Ruby, how to scale in Riak and how to keep data safe in the event of a natural disaster.
