Riak™ Cloud Storage (CS) and Citrix CloudPlatform to provide integrated storage and compute capabilities for private, hybrid, and public clouds.
CAMBRIDGE, MA – Sept 5, 2012 – Riak Technologies, the worldwide leader in distributed database technologies, announced today that it is partnering with Citrix on the Apache CloudStack project and delivering an integrated cloud infrastructure platform for the enterprise market. The companies have agreed to collaborate and jointly market integrated cloud platform software that includes Riak’s distributed object storage system, Riak CS. Riak CS will be a tested and certified object storage option for enterprises deploying Citrix CloudPlatform, the commercial distribution of the Apache CloudStack open source cloud computing platform.
Riak and Citrix are working together on a combined platform for compute and storage resources. Once completed, the fully integrated solution will include end-to-end authentication support allowing users to have common credentials for both storage and compute resources, as well as an integrated reporting system to allow unified billing. The solution will provide both Citrix CloudPlatform and Apache CloudStack users a unique built-in multi-datacenter replication option for maximum protection, availability and geographic locality of data. Riak will also offer 24×7 support with commercial service-level agreements for customers to ensure the integrity of data storage within Apache CloudStack for customers
Riak CS is a multi-tenant, distributed, S3-compatible cloud storage platform that enables enterprises and service providers to launch public or private cloud services. Built on top of Riak, the world’s most advanced, open-source, distributed database, Riak CS provides horizontal scale, extreme durability and low operational overhead in a distributed object storage system.
